The Cornerstones Assistance Services and Pantry Program is looking for volunteers to help with sorting food and containers for our storage units on February, 26 th from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Volunteers will meet with our staff at our Assistance Services and Pantry Program (11484 Washington Plaza West, Suite 120, Reston, VA 20190) at 9:00am. From there staff will direct you to their storage unit.
Volunteer Impact: Our Assistance Services and Pantry Program (ASAPP) helps to feed over 6,000 people a year - volunteers help to make this possible by helping out in a variety of ways! Sorting and organizing our storage units helps Cornerstones to effectively serve the community.
Volunteer duties: Sorting and organizing food, as well as disposing of expired food and old containers. Volunteers who are comfortable with lifting items that are 15 to 25lbs will also assist with moving items.
Location Conditions: It is recommended that volunteers check the weather the day of the opportunity so that they can wear the proper attire. All volunteers are required to wear closed-toe shoes and clothes they can easily move around in.
