Petting Zoo - Home Educator's Association of VA
HEAV hosts one of the largest homeschool conventions in the country, with approximately 12,000 participants each year. The Richmond Symphony is giving the homeschooled children an opportunity to explore the possibilities of music through an instrument petting zoo. Kids (of all ages) can touch and play violin, viola, cello, trumpet, trombone, flute, clarinet (no reed- touch only), and auxillary percussion (no snare or bass drum). Staff will teach you how to teach the instruments. No experience needed. Muisc & Arts is kindly provided the instruments.
TRANSPORTATION: Greater Richmond Convention Center. Parking in the deck at 5th & Marshall will be paid for volunteers. Drop off instructions will be provided. GRTC Pulse has a stop at 4th (East) or Convention Center (West).
