The West End Museum is seeking the assistance of a PR Coordinator to work with the PR and other committees to help coordinate promotional and PR activities to ensure that the PR committee continues to communicate effectively through all its channels and develops new audiences.
Skills:
-High level of personal motivation
- Some PR or Marketing experience is required
-Writing, communication, and organizational skills are a must
-Proven success developing outreach and engagement strategies is highly preferred
-Interest in the history and culture of Boston’s West End is a plus
Responsibilities:
-Participate in strategic communications planning
-Brainstorm, propose, and execute outreach and engagement campaigns
- Coordinate scheduling of PR committee meetings; take and circulate minutes
-Manage submissions of calendar listings to community newspapers, local websites, and Museum-affiliated
organizations, including third party email lists determined by the Museum
-Contribute to PR projects, e.g., digital communications, promotional campaigns, etc. as needed

The Museum provides a space for past and present residents and the community; educates the public in history and urbanization; and preserves its material history and culture. The Museum seeks to challenge citizens to take an active role in shaping their communities.

About the West End Museum:
We are a Boston neighborhood museum seeking volunteers interested in the history and culture of the City of Boston, its immigrant era, and urban renewal. The Museum is a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit organization dedicated to the collection, preservation, and interpretation of the history and culture of the West End of Boston.
You can expect to find a casual workplace of friendly Volunteers and Staff who are welcoming and eager to engage with the public. A previous knowledge of the neighborhood is not required, but an appreciation of its historical significance is helpful.
The Museum is conveniently located close to the MBTA Science Park/West End Station and North Station. Bowdoin Station is about a 10-minute walk.
