Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity is hosting our 1st Family Volunteer Event to make care packages for veterans/active service members in need! All ages are welcomed & encouraged to join. This event is strictly for families throughout the community to get involved with volunteering. Brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins all encouraged to join! Children are encouraged to help by decorating boxes, making cards/letters, and putting items inside the packages. Adults are encouraged to join by helping sort donations, filling packages, and getting them ready to be shipped. A perfect way to get the whole family involved with an important cause, and introduce volunteering in the community to your little ones!

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races, and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.
Description
Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds, and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit, financed with affordable, no-interest loans. The homeowners' monthly mortgage payments are used to build still more Habitat houses. Habitat is not a giveaway program. In addition to a down payment and the monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor -- sweat equity -- into building their Habitat house and the houses of others.
