ORGANIZATION: Seniors' Resource Center

  • 2 people are interested

Pick up a request to help an older adult with a minor home repair!

We receive requests for the following:

Minor plumbing - leaky faucet, garbage disposal issues, toilet issues, sink issues, showerhead issues

Safety modifications - grab bars, hand rails, ramps, install non-slip surfaces, install raised toilet seat, install showerhead

Interior work - fix or replace door handles/locks/deadbolts, replace light bulbs, install smoke or CO detectors, hang pictures, install curtain rods/blinds

Assembling small furniture items

*Can only use step ladder inside

How it works: Each week (usually on Monday) I send out the requests that have come in by email to the Minor Home Repair Volunteers. If you are interested in picking up one of the requests, you email or call me, and I send over the contact phone number and address. We ask that you have the client sign a waiver at the time of service to cover you as well as SRC from any liability claims. The clients are aware that this is a volunteer service. For requests that require a licensed contractor, we refer out to a group of handymen. For the Minor Home Repair requests, the labor is at no charge, but the client must have funds to cover materials/parts needed to complete the project.
