Position Overview:
The Mission Chair serves as the primary lead for connecting the community and participants to the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association throughout the Walk season. This position will assemble a Subcommittee to lead the Champions and Grand Champions Club program and to promote core mission elements, including TrialMatch(r), programs and services along with the Promise Garden.Qualifications:
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association.
- Ability to inspire and influence people to support the cause.
Position Responsibilities:
- Meet with the Event Chair, Co-Chair and Staff Partner to develop a plan to promote the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association and ensure TrialMatch along with Champions Club goals are met.
- Recruit and train Mission Subcommittee members, whose main responsibility is to assist with executing our core mission elements which includes TrialMatch signups and engagement of Champions Club members.
- Lead the Champions Club program by organizing special recognition events and amenities for members along with ensuring they are appropriately recognized throughout Walk season.
- Plan and organize Walk Day benefits for all Champions Club members.
- Assist the Event Chair with ensuring a mission moment occurs at all committee meetings and wrap-around events.
- Work with the Team Recruitment and Team Retention Subcommittees to ensure those mission elements are featured in year-round communications and team touches.
- Work with the Marketing and Outreach Subcommittee to collect "Why I Walk" participant stories and include a mission component in all marketing efforts.
- Work with the Logistics Chair to coordinate the Promise Flower Ceremony, Promise Garden, Tribute Wall and other mission activities on Walk Day.
- Confirm mission education route signs are displayed on Walk day.
- Ensure mission speakers and all Mission Subcommittee members are appropriately recognized.
