The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program is seeking volunteers to welcome and assist blood donors with registration and provide attention, care and refreshments following blood donation. Requires traveling between various blood donation sites in Ann Arbor.

Tasks: Provide a warm, friendly greeting to all donors. Become trained to help donors with registration procedure, maintain smooth flow of donors into donation area, be alert and notify staff if a donor does not appear to be feeling well, offer refreshments and conversation, explain importance of blood donations and encourage people to donate regularly, help schedule appointments for the next blood drive, and maintain cleanliness in canteen area

Qualifications: Must have weekday availability. Ability to meet and greet a variety of people in a friendly, courteous manner. Ability to communicate and interact with donors, paid and volunteer staff team members. Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner. Must be at least 55 years-old.

Time: One 6 hour weekday shift every month. Must be ready to volunteer with 72 hours of initial contact from Blood Services Coordinator.

Location of work: Ann Arbor near the corner of Packard and Golfside.
