ORGANIZATION: Human Services Campus

This year is the 15thAnniversary of The Human Services Campus (HSC)! One of the ways we are celebrating is by hosting the second annual Awareness Walk to End Homelessness to bring awareness to the issue and Campus services. The 2-mile walk on Saturday, April 4 begins and ends at the Campus' South Entrance at 15thAvenue and Harrison.

We looking for up to 10 volunteers to help with a variety of tasks to help setup and break down for the event. Below are the available volunteer opportunities:

  • 4 Volunteers to help place directional signs around the campus/route & help direct attendees to find parking.
  • 4 Volunteers to help set up and assist with the Check-In Table & Snacks/Coffee Table.
  • 2 Volunteers to help setup and hand out water on the route to attendees.

ABOUT HSC: The Campus is a 13-acre collaborative of 16 nonprofit agencies providing services to men and women experiencing homelessness. Services include intake & assessment, post office, identification, physical, mental and dental healthcare, shelter, case management, spiritual counseling, employment assistance, benefit applications, veteran services, homeless court, three meals per day, legal services and housing navigation. AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, THE HUMAN SERVICES CAMPUS, INC. (HSC):

  • Operates as the "front door" to the Campus via the Brian Garcia Welcome Center
  • Is the lead agency for single adult "coordinated entry" in the Valley, which means conducting intakes and assessments for all guests.
  • Connects individuals to a wide array of services guided by our HSC Navigator staff and provides matches to housing
  • When possible, we conduct "diversions" from the Campus by helping connect guests with family or friends
  • Provides additional hospitality resources including post office services and bag storage for Campus guests
  • Maintains a safe and secure Campus environment
  • Leads and fosters collaboration amongst the partner agencies to ensure our focus is ultimately about ending homelessness of our guests
