During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
The Folk School has an extensive library of books and videos that cover a wide variety of topics near and dear to our hearts. We have materials on woodworking, the fiber arts, music, and many, many more. The library is open to everyone to peruse at the cabin at Pioneer Park, and members can borrow materials.
But right now, all the materials are on shelves in the cabin, loosely organized by topic. We don't really have a good way to track borrowed materials, nor an easy way for people to search our collection.
We'd like to create a catalog for everything, using some of the online tools available, so that we can better publicize what we have and make it easy for people to find materials they are interested in.
This opportunity involves evaluating online software (that can be a separate project) and then recording each book and video in the system.
This is an ongoing project, one that requires attention to detail, and will probably involve several people over a few months of work, to keep the commitment manageable.
Thanks for considering this opportunity!
