Fremont High School hosts an annual Mock Interview event for all 11th grade students through our industry pathways. The interviews are meant to prepare students to be able to effectively complete a real interview process. Students spend several weeks learning essential skills including how to write a resume and cover letter. These skills are essential for success in the workforce. They also learn transferrable skills like how to shake hands, make eye contact, respond to questions, etc. Having a command of these skills will help students obtain work experience in the summer between 11 th and 12 th grade, an element of the school’s Linked Learning framework, and will enhance students’ life experience as well as produce a more competitive college application.
The event lasts two-and-a-half hours and is made up of an orientation and five interview sessions. As an interviewer, you would take part in a 30-minute orientation where you would have a chance to look over sample resumes and cover letters, review the accompanying rubric, and ask any clarifying questions. You would then have the opportunity to meet with students to review their resumes and cover letters and interview them. Feedback will be provided to the students through a supportive conversation and the rubric.

Mission Statement
John C. Fremont High School provides a progressive and collaborative educational experience dedicated towards cultivating all learners to be self-motivated, productive members of a dynamic society.
Description
John C. Fremont High School opened its doors in 1924. Over the years, the school--like all of South LA--has changed. It was reconstituted in 2010 as a comprehensive high school divided into small learning communities. In 2012, it changed once more when two other local high schools opened. Now, with a more standard enrollment (roughly 2,000 students), the school is divided into industry pathways (Law, Patient Care, Animation, and a STEAM Magnet) through the Linked Learning framework. This framework offers students rigorous academics, work-based learning opportunities, career technical skills, and personalized student supports. Through the programs offered by the school, students graduate both college and career ready!
