ORGANIZATION: Southwest School of Art

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Fiesta Arts Fair is widely recognized as one of the best Fiesta San Antonio events of the year, and that's due in large part to the more than 450 volunteers who donate their time and talents to making the event so successful. While the quality and variety of art presented at Fiesta Arts Fair attracts people from all over the greater San Antonio, it's that special Fiesta Arts Fair experience provided by our volunteers that keeps them coming back year after year.

If you are interested in volunteering at Fiesta Arts Fair, we have a variety of opportunities to choose from, including coupon sales, drink booths, the young artist garden, and artist relief. All volunteers receive free admission to the Fair for the day of their scheduled shift as well as a discount on Fiesta Arts Fair merchandise. Those who work three (3) or more shifts receive additional benefits.

To all who have ever volunteered at Fiesta Arts Fair, please accept our heartfelt thank you and sincere invitation to join us again! If you are considering volunteering for the first time, we welcome you and thank you for your consideration!

About Southwest School of Art

Location:

300 AUGUSTA ST, SAN ANTONIO, TX 78205, US

Mission Statement

The mission of the Southwest School of Art teaches and advances the visual arts for the benefit of students seeking higher education and for others seeking education and enrichment.

Description

Southwest School of Art is a nationally-recognized leader in arts education and the only independent college of art in Texas. In addition to our BFA degree program, we offer studio programs that serve more than 4,000 adults, children and teens each year.

We also host contemporary art exhibitions and produce educational programming for the benefit of the greater San Antonio community, all of which, is provided free and is open to the public. The campus is also home to a small history museum, and a lunch café. During a typical year, more than 225,000 people attend events, view exhibitions, enroll in classes and visit the historic site.

Our historic site is the former home of the Ursuline Convent & Academy, which was originally founded in 1851 as the first school for girls in San Antonio. This area includes extensive ceramics and fibers studios, an extensive Young Artist Programs area, and tranquil gardens and historic buildings that make it a favorite "downtown oasis."

Located across the street is the John L. Santikos Building, which houses our contemporary exhibition galleries and high-tech classrooms and studios for photography, metals, printmaking, digital imaging, paper and book arts, as well as drawing and painting and 3-D media.
