Be the linchpin of a successful nonprofit that allows the elders of our communitiesto continue living in their homes as they age. We pair volunteers who are committed to "giving back" their time and their talents with our members, who may be without a social safety net, live in homes with safety hazards, don’t understand how to use the latest digital technology, need rides to doctors, supermarkets and hair salons. Be on the ground floor recruiting new volunteers for the amazing Villages of San Mateo County. Interview, background-check, train new volunteers. We welcome high school students to folks in their '90s. Be the first to meet amazing people who are your neighbors.
During this time of the COVID-19 Pandemic, safe distancing, wearing masks, and avoiding groupings of people
is required.

Mission Statement
Supporting our members with services, resources and community connections so they can enjoy vibrant, healthy and fulfilling lives in their own homes.
Description
Villages are vibrant grassroots communities of older adults who age actively in their own homes. Through a nonprofit, membership-based network, members make new connections, are exposed to different perspectives and give and receive mutual support. Villages are revolutionizing aging in our country. Their network of volunteers help people age interdependently by sponsoring social and educational activities, encouraging community engagement, and assisting members with services such as transportation, minor home repairs, technology, companionship and pet care. Fear of isolation is replaced with confidence that as older adults they can look forward to active lives filled with friendship, learning, and laughter.
