We are hosting our annual Night of Illumination fundraiser at the University of Akron and are seeking motivated volunteers to help us on this journey. Volunteers do not have to commit to the entire time frame, but we would like it if they could commit to one hour at a minimum. You would be helping us manage the silent auction table, dessert, appetizers, and drink tables, and other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Below is a description of the event. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Every spring, Project Learn of Summit County puts on our annual charity fundraiser, Night of Illumination, to raise funding for the critical work that we do on a daily basis. At our event on March 14, 2020, we will be showcasing the work that we do with our students to help them improve on their skillsets, educational goals, and overall quality of life and why it is essential to revitalizing the Akron and Northeast Ohio region.
or more than 39 years, Project Learn, one of the longest-serving, most successful non-profits in the region, has provided the tools thousands of adults need to improve their lives through education. As the only comprehensive provider of adult literacy programs for Summit and Portage counties, Project Learn helps individuals become workforce ready, furthering both their success and the economic strength and sustainability of the region.
For most of us, reading the words around us, carrying on a conversation or even writing our signature is an ordinary occurrence; it is something automatic and natural. But for thousands of Americans, these activities seem overwhelming-nearly impossible to accomplish. Without basic literacy and language skills, every day can be a challenge. Project Learn is working diligently to change that. Through our complete adult education services, we’re helping thousands of community members improve their lives and the lives of students of their families. Each month, we have more than 150 new students enroll at Project Learn and begin enhancing their education.
Services we offer include, but are not limited to: GED Prep, English as a Second Language, and Workforce Development.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me directly at kgwilt@projectlearnsummit.org or call us at 330-434-9461. Thank you so much in advance for your support of Project Learn and we hope to see you March 14, 2020 at Night of Illumination!
Best,
Kristen
