Youth Led is currently running a reading pilot program at Pearson Community Center. We are in need of volunteers as team leaders with experience in education to help with our reading tutoring program. This is an opportunity that will turn into a part-time position. Currently, we are tutoring with the second and third graders at the community center. The purpose is to produce awareness and gain clients to be apart of Youth Led.

Description
All my life as a kid not one of my life’s transitional challenges were explained to me. I never felt like I had an outlet to talk about the things I was experiencing as a child before and after foster care. I didn’t feel like it was safe to share with others that I was a foster kid, I mean after all, I was still trying to figure out what was happening. The only thing I was focused on was SURVIVAL and staying out of the way.
Youth Led is designed to help middle school youth to transition through their challenges and obstacles with a education and leadership curriculum, community service projects, problem solving, critical thinking and fundraising events that will allow them to gain positive exposure and be an influence to others.
