A Helping Hand Volunteer:
Opportunities always exist to serve the mission of Journey To Healing. Volunteer opportunities include administrative and programmatic support activities in our main office, a helping hand at our weekly events, planning and supporting our community events. This is a key contribution to the program, our fellowship/dinner time is important to help create a safe environment where families and children feel welcome and supported. These volunteer roles do not require the special training that our grief support group leaders or camp volunteer complete.
Can I receive community service hours?
- Yes. We are happy to work with you in fulfilling your community service hours.
Can I volunteer with a group?
- Yes. Group volunteers are welcome for all programs and our annual fundraising events are a perfect opportunity for group involvement.
Are there any requirements to be a volunteer for events?
- There are no requirements of experience or expertise. We just ask that you be punctual and responsible. We welcome event volunteers of all ages.
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
About JOURNEY TO HEALING
66 COLORADO ST, HIGHLAND PARK, MI 48203, US
Journey To Healing is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit dedicated to connecting families who have experienced trauma related to grief and loss to resources, education, and awareness to decrease stigma associated with mental health.
Journey to Healing has the privilege of serving the Detroit community since 2017. We are dedicated to connecting families who have experienced trauma related to grief and loss to resources, education, and awareness to decrease stigma associated with mental health. Our goal is to empower communities through our Trauma Informed Community Building Model. This strategic plan identifies neighborhoods in Detroit, based on a mental health needs assessment completed by the community. We use this as our foundation to create intentional programming for children and families to improve healthier outcomes.
Our vision is for our community to become trauma informed by transforming their pain into power. Our Trauma Informed Community Building model approaches grief and or loss separately so that we can heal each layer of trauma. We encourage resilience in our families and work to build consciousness through intentional programming that promotes healing justice that leads to power.
