The Nature Conservancy's North America program is seeking a volunteer research assistant to support Natural Climate Solutions through groundbreaking research and effective advocacy. This position will provide a unique opportunity to develop expertise in an emerging area and work with both state and global Nature Conservancy staff to design and implement Natural Climate Solutions programs. The research and analytical skills utilized in this position are transferable to both political and conservation work.
The Nature Conservancy Natural Climate Solutions are land use and management strategies that increase carbon sequestration on natural and working lands. Natural Climate Solutions (NCS) offer an important pathway to mitigating climate change. The Nature Conservancy (TNC) has been a leader in efforts to encourage the development of NCS strategies. The Research Assistant will work with The Nature Conservancy's North America Director of Natural Climate Solutions to advance this strategy by researching state policies, programs and projects that support NCS implementation; tracking TNC activities; and organizing information to disseminate to TNC staff across the U.S. and Canada.
