We rely on caring and compassionate volunteer drivers to provide valuable rides to the people in our community who need it most.
Time Commitment
We prefer that you are available to drive at least one hour per week. You can dictate your schedule and we will work around it. Our hours of operation are between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. A transportation scheduler will contact you weekly to make requests.
Location
You can choose where you would like to drive. Some people choose to drive in their own neighborhood while some volunteers are comfortable driving in all areas of King County.
Requirements
Each volunteer driver must:
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Pass a criminal background and DMV check
- Have weekday availability

Mission Statement
Sound Generations, established in 1967, is Washington State's most comprehensive non-profit organization that supports people on their aging journey through community connections and accessible services. Established in 1967, we support almost 54,000 older adults, disabled persons, and those who care for them annually in King County.
Description
Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.
