Special Olympics Florida will host the Miami-Dade County Soccer Individual Skills Competition for athletes from elementary and middle schools on Thursday, March 5th Tamiami Park from 8:30 am-12:30 pm.
Special Olympics relies on the support of volunteers to run successful competitions for our Athletes. Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, registration, score keeping, escorting athletes, awards and more.

The mission of Special Olympics Florida is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities who wish to participate, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

The ultimate goal of Special Olympics is to help persons with intellectual disabilities participate as productive and respected members of society at large, by offering them a fair opportunity to develop and demonstrate their skills and talents through sports training and competition, and by increasing the public’s awareness of their capabilities and needs.
