Do you love reading, chatting, drawing, or singing?
Are you a loving individual who enjoys spending time with seniors?
Do you have a big heart and couple hours a week to share?
Can you make a reliable commitment to someone who may not have many (or any) visitors, or to a caregiver who needs a break while caring for a loved one?

If so, you may be our best new hospice volunteer!

We are currently recruiting for Patient Care Volunteers to donate an hour or two a week to read, chat, sing or simply offer the gift of companionship to our hospice patients who have little or no extended family, or whose families need additional support. At Kindred Hospice we offer compassionate care for patients and their families facing life-limiting illnesses. We'd love your help in providing "circles of home" for individuals entering the final stages of life.

Volunteers may visit patients at home or in facilities. Hours are very flexible (weekends are often available), and the type of commitment varies from patient to patient.

We are looking for volunteers in all of the Chicagoland area, with a particular emphasis on areas south of Interstate 55. We would love to have volunteers who are bilingual, especially those who speak Spanish, Arabic and Polish. We also welcome Veteran volunteers, as we have many patients who are Veterans and would enjoy having a fellow serviceman/woman to talk to.

All volunteer positions require a Physical and two step TB test, a fingerprinting background check, and a drug screen - paid for by Kindred.

If this volunteer opportunity sounds like a good fit, please contact us today!
