Volunteers work in conjunction with other members of the hospice team. the provide: patient care, administrative and bereavement services. Duties include but not limited to, companionship, caregiver relief and support, light house keeping, answering phones in office, assemble mailings, follow up with families following a death and assist with memorial services. Volunteers are under the supervision of the Volunteer Coordinator who provides support and resources to equip the volunteer. Volunteers are a very essential part of the team.

Description
CHRISTUS HOSPICE provides support for both patients and families that are going through one of the most difficult transitions in their lives- experiencing a terminal illness within their family. We provide support through a palliative approach, providing pain management for patients and emotional and spiritual support for both the patient and family members.
An imperative part of our program to provide the necessary support for our patients and families are the volunteers within our company that continue to enhance the quality of life of both our patients and families.
I am currently looking for individuals who are interested in visiting patients at Nursing Homes and their homes to provide companionship, socialization or to do things such as simply play games with the patient. Every patient and family’s needs are different. If you would like to make a huge difference in someone’s life then please contact me!
Veteran Volunteers are welcome as we aim to pair recruited Veteran Volunteers with Veteran Hospice Patients who may share common military experiences.

- You can volunteer as much or as little as you would like. We just need passionate individuals who want to make a difference in someone's life and make some great friends along the way.
- Friendly, outgoing attitude, larger than life personality, car insurance, a couple references, background check and drug test. We provide any immunizations needed.
