Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that will fulfill your desire to be part of a community, accept you exactly as you are, and change your perspective on life and relationships?

At L’Arche Portland, people with and without intellectual disabilities build community and relationships together. We have three homes in SE Portland and Beaverton where housemates with and without intellectual disabilities share life together.

We value meaningful relationships and rely on dedicated volunteers to help provide a wide circle of support around our three homes, to open themselves to new relationships and learning opportunities, and to help us be a sign of hope in the larger community. Much of the beauty that happens within L’Arche Portland rests on the efforts of volunteers, and we ask you to consider if you are ready and willing to open your heart and join us.

We seek committed volunteers who value community, diversity, and relationship building across difference. Volunteers commit to serving in one of our homes at least twice a month. A ctivities may include assisting our homes with cooking, cleaning, outings, game nights, welcoming guests, activities, and more. Volunteers are encouraged to enjoy meals with us and build friendships within our homes.

All volunteers must complete a background check before entering our homes.
