The Omaha VA is looking for an outgoing and energetic volunteer. This is an excellent volunteer opportunity for an individual who enjoys talking with people and requires minimal clerical support! The Veterans Benefit's Assistant Volunteer is an administrative support assistant. Veterans who are seeking to speak to a Veterans Benefit Representative will be able to do so over a virtual connection. The volunteer greets the veteran and shows them to the virtual benefits room. The volunteer assists the veteran connect to the virtual benefits representative and then will wait outside the room to assist. The volunteer assists with retrieving printed documents, obtaining signatures from the Veteran, and making copies of the benefits paperwork, if needed. Upon completion of the visit, the volunteer will turn the paperwork into the appropriate office. Veterans occasionally need assistance with wayfinding throughout the building. Some walking and standing is involved.
