Are you ready to make a difference? Canine Companions for Independence is looking for dog-loving volunteers to help organize fun free community event, DogFest Texas on October 2, 2021. The event location is The Sounds (3111 Olympus Blvd, Coppell, TX 75019). Canine Companions for Independence is a nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs at no charge to the recipient. DogFest is Canine Companions signature event - it gathers together like minded dog-loving people to celebrate human canine bond.
Volunteer event committee opportunities:
- Organize a subcommittee consisting of two or more committee members to assist.
- Secure sponsorship dollars from local/national businesses to support the event and bring on some teams in the process.
- Become familiar with the sponsorship levels and benefits so you know what levels available and what benefits are offered at each level. Sponsors may only be granted benefits at their level as shown on the various benefit charts.
- Meet with potential sponsors to secure sponsorship money ($) and teams (participation).
- Arrange for sponsor banners to be hung up at DogFest.
- Follow-up with sponsors to ensure they are engaged in DogFest and expectations are met.
- Ensure proper recognition is given to sponsors before, during and after DogFest.
- Post-event, ensure sponsor recognition happens and sponsor thank you notes are handled.
- Keep a running list of committed sponsors and work with your staff partner to ensure we deliver on the benefits.
- Write thank you notes to sponsors upon receipt of sponsorship check.
