The Front Desk Support tasks include assisting the front desk to provide excellent customer service to participants and visitors that walk through the front door of CAPI’s IOC Office, as well as support the foodshelf in its growing capacity. Individuals taking this position will provide prompt, courteous, and efficient service to visitors, guests, employees and telephone callers. This position will also provide program, administrative, and other support services to staff as needed.

This description serves only as a general description of anticipated day-to-day responsibilities of the position. This document does not create a contract, implied or otherwise, other than an "at will" relationship.

While scheduling can be flexible, with options Monday-Friday 830am-430pm, due to the knowledge required for the position we ask all front desk positions to sign up for at least 4 hours a week.

  • Front Desk Reception and Administration
    1. Provide prompt, courteous, welcoming, and efficient service to visitors, guests, employees and telephone callers. Includes forwarding calls, answering questions about CAPI programs, and informing staff of client arrival, etc.
    2. Keep lobby and receptionist desk clean and organized; presentable in a brand-appropriate manner at all times.
    3. Sort mail and incoming faxes appropriately
    4. Assist with other projects assigned by Operations Manager or other program managers
    5. Help set up for meetings and events held at CAPI IOC
  • Other Responsibilities
    1. Serve as a strong team player, supporting CAPI’s mission and strategic imperatives.
    2. Other duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned.
    3. Provides direct administrative support to the Executive Director and Program Managers upon request.
  • Food Shelf Support
    1. Assist clients coming in for the Foodshelf with their food selection by walking them through the shelf and indicating food limits
    2. Work with Foodshelf full time staff to register new food shelf clients and begin the renewal process
    3. Assistance with Monday food drop offs

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations preferred; ability to work effectively with diverse populations required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to proficiently speak/write/read/understand English required.
  • Ability to demonstrate high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude, and teamwork with CAPI’s clients, staff, and management.
  • Ability to produce high quality work, with attention to detail and consistent follow through.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Ability to proficiently learn various databases needed to perform role.
  • Ability to exercise sound and rational judgement when assisting all visitors and answering questions.
