Role and Responsibilities:

The role of an Employment Coach is to assist clients in their efforts to attain employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Help clients acquire practical skills i.e. how to search for a job, how to successfully interview, and how to network in today’s job market.
  • Must actively listen to clients, analyze expressed needs, and suggest solutions as well as action plans. Uses tact, diplomacy and persistence in providing recommendations to clients.
  • Assesses client’s education, work experience, skills, abilities, qualifications, and job interest as well as client readiness for job referral
  • Identifies problems/barriers that hinder employability; assists clients in resolving and mitigating barriers to employment by identifying the need for other services and benefits; ability to counsel clients regarding recommended solutions and suggested supportive services
  • Assist clients with computer usage, online job applications, assessments and building/writing resumes and cover letters
  • Interviews, advises, and guides a diverse population of clients to ascertain employability
