A creative and patient individual is needed to join our organization as an Assistant Step Coach for a new team that is slated to include girls (and eventually boys) in grades 6 to 12.
The team meets in Downtown Rahway, New Jersey at the local YMCA on Saturdays from 6;45pm to 8:00pm. You will work alongside the Head Coach in developing and teaching choreography and preparing the team for local performances. If we find that the team is strong, competitive experiences may be available.
This volunteer position will transition into a paid position in either June or September for the right person. Experience on a step team - either as a participant or coach is required.

Description
Friends of MJHS ("Friends") is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation organized for the purpose of generating contributions, pledges and funds for the development and ongoing support of Citadel Academy Prep School (CAPS), a school that will provide students in grades 6-8 with a high quality Christian education through a well balanced, yet challenging curriculum that ministers to the spirit, soul and body.
Friends will also provide funds, management and ongoing support of The SoulDeevas Performing Arts Company, a character building sports and arts program that will serve all youth regardless of their religious affiliation. The SoulDeevas will include programs that provide activities, resources and support during critical out-of-school time hours in a safe, nurturing environment that works from a strengths-based, youth development perspective.
