11th Hour Hospice Volunteer

Be a Calming Presence at the End of Life:

Southeastern Hospice is currently looking for kind and caring Volunteers to help terminally ill patients and their families- just by being there at the end of life.

11 th Hour (Vigil) Volunteers should be comfortable around death and dying and be familiar with the dying process. Most importantly, Vigil Volunteers must be able to meet the unique needs of the patients and family by offering a calming presence. Southeastern Hospice are especially looking for volunteers who would be available at short notice to provide 2-4 hour shifts regardless the time of day or night. Weekend or Holiday. End-of-Life Doulas (EOLD’s) provide practical assistance, companionship and guidance to the families as they face death. Services are provided in the home, in the assisted living and hospice facilities, nursing homes and hospitals- wherever the person calls home.
