Mission Statement

To provide sailing therapy to Veterans, First Responders, and At-Risk Youth suffering from PTSD. Along with their families at no cost to them. On average 22 Veterans, a day commits suicide due to PTSD. More first responders commit suicide each year because of their PTSD then die in the line of duty. These are the people who come to help us. We want to help them. Even one life lost, is too many.

Description

We are in the middle of a MAJOR refit/renovation of the therapy vessel. We are trying to raise about $70,000 to complete the project and get the boat back in the water. And start the planning for an expedition through the Northwest Passage. The $70,000 is what is needed if we have to pay for everything we need to purchase. Obviously, if we receive equipment or supply donations, which we have, those items come off the total needed. Everyone who participates in the sailing therapy program is required to put in work hours as well. Working and doing projects on the boat is one of the things that really helped me with my PTSD. To enjoy the beauty of getting out on the water, there are always projects that need to be done first. We need Volunteers to assist with the boat work, finding equipment and financial donations, and spreading the word about our mission. We work usually Monday through Thursday at the shipyard in Pt Charlotte, FL. No experience or specific skills are needed. Just the desire to help with the mission and to have fun. For those who take to this type of therapy, after completing day trips, will be invited as crew on longer trips. While on longer trips we will be able to welcome veterans and first responders along the way. And even from other countries. As we have veterans all over the world.
