Attention Key Clubs! Uhuru Furniture invites you to set up a volunteer event with us!
Volunteering with Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles is a way to take action in defense of the human and civil rights of the Black community. Our store supports programs in the U.S. and here in Oakland that are bridging the disparities faced by the Black community in health, education and economic development. You can be part of it!
Your group is invited to volunteer together on a single day, for a four hour block of time. We go out every Saturday from 11am-3pm but we can tailor the day and times you need.
What is volunteer activity? Community outreach in the form of hanging cards on doorknobs in a specific neighborhood. Groups love this fun, outdoor and collective activity that informs the community about the services we provide and how they can support us. And we get immediate results!
Groups are given a brief training, all the materials needed, snacks and a thank you treat.

Description
Uhuru Furniture and Collectibles is a non-profit store that is a fundraiser for black community empowerment programs of APEDF. We receive a truck load of donated furniture and household items every day. This is a lively, popular Grand Lake area store staffed mostly by volunteers. When you volunteer at Uhuru Furniture, you not only contribute to the success of the store, you become part of a larger movement for peace through social justice. People shop at Uhuru Furniture for low priced, top quality items and to support crucial programs for social justice for African people.
