ORGANIZATION: VANTAGE Aging RSVP

The Medina County Park District mission is to enhance the quality of all life through education, conservation, and the protection of natural resources.

The goal is to assist the park district by offering assistance in conservation practices and opportunities are available throughout the Medina County Park District.

Duties may include but not be limited to:
  • Assisting in maintaining garden beds at various locations
  • Assisting in the removal of invasive species at various locations
  • Assisting in tree/shrub plantings at various locations
  • Collecting seeds at various locations for future plantings
  • Recording volunteer hours and submitting them monthly to the Volunteer Coordinator

Volunteers should be able to kneel/stoop for an extended period of time, physically able to shovel and bend over, able to hike off trail. On-site training will be provided, if needed.

Description

VANTAGE Aging promotes positive aging through a variety of programs and services for older adults. Our nonprofit organization serves 38 counties and is headquartered in Akron, Ohio. In Summit and Medina Counties, we facilitate the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for those 55 and older who want to make a meaningful impact in the community. We also offer employment training, home care and home health aide assistance, nutrition and home-delivered meal services, alcohol and drug addiction counseling, and mental health and prevention services.
