River Keepers hosts various workshops with Clay Soil and Water Conservation District providing attendees with information and resources on how to manage a yard in a river friendly manner. We need help preparing for our 2022 Make Your Own Rain Barrel and Compost Tumbler Workshops. Can you help? Volunteers do not have to stay the full time, come and go as your schedule allows.
Assist staff with cleaning used 55 gallon plastic barrels for upcoming workshops. We will be using hoses to spray them out with water and rags to clean the inside, if needed. We use used barrels to prevent waste going to the landfill rather than buying brand new ones. Contents in the barrels vary, some used to have syrups in them, apple cider vinegar, food preservative, etc. All of them are food grade.
Wear clothes and shoes you do not mind getting wet or dirty. Dress for the weather.
