Job Summary
The Gift Shop Volunteers run the retail shop owned by the Auxiliary. The Volunteers will enhance the experience of our guests when they enter the Gift Shop by providing them with excellent customer service.

Primary Job Responsibilities
All responsibilities and standards shall be performed according to established policies, procedures and guidelines for the Department and Emanate Health.
1. Meet and greet patients and family members as they enter
2. Know the merchandise that is in the shop
3. Confidently ring customers up and process payment

Role-Specific Competencies
All volunteers must meet the threshold (minimum job requirements) and generic competencies. All competencies are measured on the Performance/Competency Assessment form.
1. Excellent customer service skills to promote and maintain positive relationships with our patients
2. Ability to sympathize with families and patients
3. Be willing, pleasant, flexible, dependable, self-motivated, competent, energetic, enthusiastic and professional
4. Must be able to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time
5. Ability to operate the cash register
6. Ability to operate the credit card machine
7. Ability to follow process employee Payroll Deductions
8. Ability to close shop at the end of the shift
9. Maintain current knowledge of Gift Shop Expectations
