ORGANIZATION: ARCHCITY DEFENDERS

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Looking for an opportunity to help people live freely and thrive in their communities? Volunteer with ArchCity Defenders during one of our biggest events of the year: The 7 th Annual Trivia Night. Proceeds from the event support ACD’s ongoing mission to provide holistic legal advocacy to people affected by systemic racial and income inequality.

The only experience necessary is a desire to help create and cultivate an exciting and educational night of fun and games. Of course, prior experience planning or working a trivia event is always a plus.

Food and beverages will be provided throughout the night, along with many opportunities to connect with a growing community of donors, partners and clients committed to redefining public safety.

We look forward to working with you on Saturday, March 21st

Sign-up today! Contact Sergio: sbuchanan@archcitydefenders.org; 314 361 8834.

About ARCHCITY DEFENDERS

Location:

440 North 4th Street, Suite 390, SAINT LOUIS, MO 63102, US

Mission Statement

ArchCity Defenders (ACD) is a holistic legal advocacy organization that combats the criminalization of poverty and state violence, especially in communities of color. ACD’s foundation of civil and criminal legal representation, social services, impact litigation, policy and media advocacy, and community collaboration achieves and inspires justice and equitable outcomes for people throughout the St. Louis region and beyond.

Description

ArchCity’s clients are inescapably targeted and punished by the criminal legal system of police, courts, and jails. Our clients experience many collateral consequences as a result of their interactions with the system - losing jobs, vehicles, and apartments, and facing large barriers to regaining housing and employment. ArchCity Defenders uses holistic legal advocacy to fight with our clients in court, help families rebuild their lives together, and bring civil rights lawsuits to challenge the direct abuses of the criminal legal system.

ACD envisions a society liberated from systems of oppression where the promise of justice and racial equity is realized; communities where our approach to public safety prioritizes investment in well-being, health, and transformation without relying on criminalization and incarceration; and people living freely in their communities, thriving regardless of their race or income.
