Friends of the Family is currently recruiting new Volunteer/Coaches for the Safe Child Custody Exchange (SCCE) program. The SCCE program is for children whose parents are separated or divorced, and are in need of a safe place where custody exchanges can be conducted peacefully. The SCCE program provides a safe environment where children can move from one custody of one parent to the other without a threat of conflict or violence. Most exchanges takes place in the evening and on weekends at the West Valley Police Station and the Mission Hills Police Station. All volunteer/coaches must be 21 years or older and must complete an 8 hour training and certification provided at no cost to the volunteer. Training will be provided by Friends of the Family and will include all materials and ongoing supervision and support. The volunteer commitment is for 2 hours a week for 6-12 months.
