IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to COVID-19, the Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival has been POSTPONED to July 9-12, 2020.
2020 marks the 50th anniversary of the environmental movement and the creation of Earth Day. Join us at the 2020 Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival to celebrate, educate, inspire, and take action.
Volunteers are the backbone of Earth Day -- assisting with vendor check-in, conducting crowd counts, parking, working in Community Environmental Council's Green Car Show and helping with children's activities. They also assist with greeting guests, stage management, social media, beer garden, and supporting our 'Zero-Waste Team' to ensure that our Earth Day festival produces as little waste as possible. Thanks for lending a hand...we'll need it! Please sign for one or more shifts for the weekend (and bring a friend!) here: http://bitly.com/EarthDayVol2020
REQUIRED VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION: Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 5:30-6:30 at Alameda Park.

About Community Environmental Council
Location:
26 W. Anapamu Street, 2nd Floor, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, US
Mission Statement
The CEC is a well-established environmental nonprofit focused exclusively on energy efficiency and renewables, alternative transportation, and climate change. We work from grassroots to policy levels to help community members reduce their carbon footprint and to end our region's dependency on fossil fuels to become 'Fossil Free by 2033'.
Description
Most experts think we have already reached the end of the era of cheap oil. CEC has thus drawn a line in the sand: Fossil Free by '33. Sure it's a cute slogan -- but with monumental consequences. Because our economy is energy, we are challenging the tri-county region to set an example for our nation and the world by ending its dependence on fossil fuels -- primarily oil and coal -- and meeting its needs through conservation and renewable resources, such as solar, wind and wave energy.
