Girls Who Code Clubs is a free program for 3rd-5th and 6th-12th grade girls that creates a sisterhood, with supportive peers and role models using computer science to change the world.
Girls Who Code values diversity, equity, and inclusion as essential to the mission. With a focus on not only gender diversity but also on young women who are historically underrepresented in computer science fields.
Computing is where the jobs are - and where they will be in the future - but our girls are being left behind.
We need your help! and it is not hard, with one hour a week we can empower more girls.
The curriculum is designed for girls with a wide range of computer science experience. There are activities for girls with zero computer science experience all the way up to activities that introduce college-level concepts. The broad set of soft and hard skills we teach are:
- Teamwork
- Confidence
- Time Management
- Communication
- Functions
- Variables
- Conditionals
- Loops

Description
At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley, we have been enriching the lives of children in the Santa Clara Valley for more than six decades. By providing access to innovative programs, inspiring leaders and an enlightened perspective on life, we help children overcome boundaries and achieve their dreams.
Founded in 1944, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley (BGCSV) is an affiliate member of the Boys & Girls Club of America, and currently serves over 3,000 members, ages 6 to 18, at 9 facilities throughout the San Jose area.
Our target population in the City of San Jose is at-risk youth ages 6 to 18 that are vulnerable to influences from gangs and other negative pressures that would adversely affect their abilities to become successful adults.
