The Transforming Education for Social Justice Conference is a regional conference that brings together people in Western Massachusetts who are interested in social justice and equity in K-12 schools, early childhood classrooms, and the surrounding communities. Participants and speakers will co-create a space for young people, educators, activists, administrators, and scholars to connect and network, share and learn, dream and envision possibilities for developing education as a tool for equity and social justice.

We are looking for volunteers to help with all kinds of tasks throughout the day:

  • Putting up signage around campus
  • Loading in supplies and setting up the lobby
  • Local Author tabling support
  • Breakfast area staging & maintenance
  • Directing participants to the registration area
  • Setting up session rooms
  • Guiding attendees to session rooms and cafeteria before and after sessions
  • Supporting a family-friendly activity area
  • Afternoon snack staging & maintenance
  • Room cleanup between sessions
  • Cleaning up at the end of the event

We are a non-profit educational service agency, committed to reaching and educating learners of all ages, and experienced in working with educators to help students learn and succeed.

Founded in 1974, we are governed by representatives from our member school districts in Hampshire and Franklin Counties. We partner with students, families, schools and districts, educators; and communities across Massachusetts and in the region to create and improve educational opportunities both in and out of the classroom and ensure that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 16
