Are you an outgoing animal-lover? Do you have a strong desire to help spread the word about animal welfare? Are you ready to use your skills to change lives? If so, we have the perfect volunteer opportunity for you!

We are looking for friendly, energetic individuals to join our team of Community Events Helpers! These volunteers will be called upon to help generate awareness at various events in our community.

Responsibilities Include:

• Attend community events as an advocate of HEA
• Engage with community members and event attendees and spread the word of
• HEA’s story
• Our work
• Our mission and vision
• The animals we care for
• Sell HEA branded merchandise and apparel and collect donations
• Introduce adoptable animals to event attendees (when applicable)
• Set up and takedown of tent, tables, and other supplies at events
• Work closely with the Community Outreach Specialist to coordinate pick up and drop off of supplies

Requirements:

• Upbeat and engaging personality with a passion for HEA and animal welfare
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Experience in customer services and/or community engagement is preferred
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs

We will provide training, as needed, on the mission, vision, and work of our organization, as well as setting up and taking down tables and displays. Community Events Helpers can expect to volunteer an average of 6-9 hours per month.
