Do you have a passion for reading? Do you enjoy teaching others? Are you looking for a way to make a difference in your community? Then join the Moreno Valley Public Library as an Adult Literacy volunteer tutor and help adult learners develop valuable reading and writing skills.

We are looking for dedicated community members who can come in just once a week, in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends to help adults develop reading and writing skills. As an Adult Literacy tutor you'll have the opportunity to interact with Library staff and the public while assisting with a variety of projects and programs. The Ideal volunteer will be able to donate their personal time during the Library's normal business hours at any of our Moreno Valley Public Library branch locations or online

Examples of Duties
Tasks typically performed by Adult Literacy volunteer tutors include the following:
Teach adult patrons reading skills.
Adhere to Moreno Valley Public Library policies and procedures.
Maintain the confidentiality of library patron's personal information.
Maintain contact with Library Staff regarding needs, concerns, questions, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
Pass a background check from the City of Moreno Valley.
