Thank you for your interest in becoming a Volunteer. GiGi’s Playhouse is a volunteer-run organization and we rely on the skill and dedication of volunteers of various levels of expertise to keep our programs vibrant, educational, fun and free. Parents, family members, clinicians, and individuals who believe in the GiGi’s Playhouse mission act as volunteers in GiGi’s Playhouse programs, events, administrative offices, and on our Board of Members. Description: GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist fundraising and event efforts. This internship/volunteer position is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of fundraising and events while working for a well-known community based nonprofit organization. The Fundraising and Events Intern/Volunteer works closely with staff to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individuals and companies interested in supporting GiGi’s Playhouse.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and attend special events, fundraising events and meetings
  • Recruit groups and individuals for fundraising events
  • Provide support for on-going development activities including prospect research, grant writing support, build sponsor program administration and program marketing
  • Draft and proofread professional correspondence
  • Develop and manage fundraising incentive programs
  • Assist in sponsorships and in-kind requests (both written and verbal)
  • Coordinate closely with staff on social media, collateral, and web content to promote fundraising efforts

Qualifications:

  • Comfort and familiarity with event planning
  • Dependable, reliable, honest and trustworthy
  • Comfort with soliciting/interacting with individuals and companies face-to-face, on the phone or via email
  • Understanding & proper execution of GiGi’s Playhouse Brand Guidelines
  • Must be computer literate, knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, email and donor management system preferred
  • An effective communicator, both written and oral
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with press and community contacts
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Enthusiasm for the mission of GiGi’s Playhouse and the families we serve
  • Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States
