The Sam L. Cohen Adult Day Center provides a home-away-from-home experience for our members living with memory impairments including Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. The Center encompasses the latest in therapeutic approaches in person-centered care, providing a safe environment for members while encouraging socialization, healthy choices, and maximum independence.

The Driver Volunteer will use organization vehicle and be responsible for picking up and/or dropping off Cohen Center members. Members live all over Southern Maine but need rides to Biddeford.

Volunteer should have the ability to work with people with some level of dementia, patience, kindness, good sense of humor, love of people, the ability to see the value of all people. Driving experience and a clean driving record are a must.

Shifts can take place at 8:00AM or 5:00PM, M-F available, weekly or monthly.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY!

Southern Maine Agency on Aging Volunteer Services provides opportunities to make a difference in the community through volunteer service. Volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, meals on wheels, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. We offer maximum flexibility and choice to our volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of the over age 55 volunteer to opportunities in selected imapct service areas to help solve community problems. RSVP volunteers receive supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where they are placed.
