ORGANIZATION: Coal Oil Point Reserve

Coal Oil Point Reserve's Nature Center is looking for volunteers to conduct outreach on the first Saturday of each month!

Nature Center docents open/close the building during public visiting hours (and for tours by appointment), greet visitors, interpret exhibits and offer additional information about the reserve.

Training will be provided. Interested volunteers may email copr.conservation@nrs.ucsb. edu

The mission of the Natural Reserve System is to contribute to the understanding
and wise management of the Earth and its natural systems by supporting university-level
teaching, research and public service at protected natural areas throughout California.

Description

One of the major projects at Coal Oil Point Reserve is the conservation of the Threatened shorebird species: The Western Snowy Plover.
