Description
Unpaid volunteer, 2-10 hours per week, 2-6 months, remote
Volunteer Position Description
The Marketing & Communication Associate will draft and design materials, including website copy, flyers and social media posts. Our preferred candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, English, Marketing or a relevant field. Experience in journalism, marketing and/or event-planning is preferred. An interest in the Foundation’s mission is essential.
Areas of Responsibility
- Assist with the research, development and production of website updates, social media posts and other digital activities
- Assist with advertising campaigns in print and digital/social media channels
- Assist with the research, writing and proofreading of marketing and website copy
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, English, Marketing or relevant field
- Experience in journalism, marketing or event planning experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience with websites (Wix preferred), social media and graphic design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and creative ability
- Experience with MailChimp and/or with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) preferred
- Knowledge of AP Style preferred
- Strong personal interest in the Foundation’s mission
