Description
With just one hour per week, you could empower a child to become a confident reader and leader. The Northeast Georgia History Center is developing Gainesville Reads, a free one-on-one tutoring program for students who struggle with reading. A small pilot of the program will begin in January of 2020 for students in 1st-3rd grade. We are seeking Volunteer Tutors for the pilot and going forward. All tutors will receive training. This program is modeled after the highly successful New Haven Reads which is supported by Yale University.
