BACKGROUND: As the largest emergency assistance provider in Forsyth County, Crisis Control Ministry assists people in crisis to meet essential life needs and to become self-sufficient. Crisis Control makes sure our neighbors experiencing crisis have their basic human needs met by providing food, shelter, and medicine.

SCOPE OF WORK: The Social Media and Events Intern will work to support the Crisis Control Ministry’s philanthropy team with fundraising events, social media spotlights, and blogging. This intern would report to our Special Events and Marketing Manager. Opportunities vary depending on the intern’s interest or focus area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with preparing for and staffing tabling and community events.
• Assist with preparing for fundraising events.
• Support staff with donor mailings.
• Capture photos of volunteers, clients and donors.
• Develop creative written and visual content for online and social media use, including videos and blog posts.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal relations skills: the ability to work professionally and effectively with staff, volunteers, and participants in a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary environment.
• Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, effectively manage time and meet deadlines.
• Experience with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Videography experience preferred.

TIME COMMITMENT: 8-10 hours per week.

COMPENSATION: This is an unpaid/volunteer internship.
