This opportunity is still available for sign up, but due to COVID, we are not expecting to be able to hold adoption events until mid 2021.

You have the power to bring great joy to a homeless dog. Your help for a few hours a week/month can make a significant impact in a homeless dog’s life. A small fraction of your life can save theirs.

  • You will help give them an outing to make their shelter stay more pleasant.
  • You will assist with obtaining more information on the dog so powerful biographies can be written for national adoption sites.
  • You will help these animals find homes.

How you ask? By simply interacting with the dog during the adoption events. If you can pet a dog or sit with a dog, then you can help. It is that simple.

There are also other opportunities for those who may not be quite yet comfortable working with the animals.

  • Talk to people about the dogs at the events
  • Talk to people about donation opportunities like Amazon smile.
  • Assist with connecting people to resources like Rehome.
  • Answer questions posed by the public.
  • Assist adopters with filling out adoption paperwork.
  • Help with set up and tear down.
  • Assist with clean up.

There is always an experienced volunteer close by who can help you whenever needed.

Some of our Adoption Ambassadors are unable to help with certain tasks and that is OK. We greatly appreciate any help and the dogs will love you for it!

There is literally something for just about everyone.

About One by One Friends of Animals

12324 E 86TH ST N PMB 278, OWASSO, OK 74055, US

Mission Statement

To: 1) rescue abandoned, abused and injured animals, rehabilitate them, have them vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and find them loving permanent adoptive homes 2) hance our local community by offering programs or services involving animals that benefit the citizens of our community; and 3) increase public awareness of issues involving abandoned, abused and injured animals.

One by One Friends of Animals, Inc ("One by One") differs from other rescues by striving to save animals, mostly dogs, that other rescues in our local area are unable to take due to size, breed or health issues. We saw that medium and large breed dogs were underserved in our community and needed a lifeline as the typical shelter stay is often insufficient to provide these loving animals with the time needed to find them a forever home.

One by One is 100% volunteer run so that every dollar goes directly to the animals. There are no salaries paid and most administrative supplies are donated.

Since being formed in June 2014, One by One has been involved either directly or indirectly in saving 899 lives that would have otherwise been lost. We are extremely proud of these figures and would not have been able to achieve this goal without the support of our community, volunteers, rescue partners, and you!
