Model United Nations Advisor
Palo Alto Famly YMCA is seeking a young adult who is interested in mentoring & guiding middle-school students participating in our Model United Nations Program. Model United Nations is a state-wide program that provides middle schoolers with the opportunity to take on the role of an ambassador for a country and advocate for the needs and interests of its culture and people. The program consists of weekly meetings on Thursdays and 2 weekend conferences which allow the delegates to be immersed in the role of an ambassador. The ideal advisor would be excited about youth involvement in civic engagement and bring energy to their interactions with the delegates. As a program, we strive for a healthy balance between education about other cultures, fun, and safety. The weekly meetings are on Thursday nights from 6:30-8pm and the conferences are March 13-15 and April 23-26. Advisor must be at least 21 years of age and willing to participate in a child safety background check and training program.
