Money Management offers volunteer opportunities for you to use skills you have learned in business or in managing a home in order to help vulnerable citizens in our community remain independent as long as possible. We currently have opportunities in Dallas and Collin Counties.

Home Visitor (1-5 hours a month)---serves as a liaison between the client and The Senior Source, Senior Citizens of Greater Dallas, appointed by the Social Security Administration as Corporate Representative Payee; visits or calls the client at least once a month and ensures the client's basic needs are being met; offers support to the client and reports back to Senior Source staff.

Our volunteers are required to submit monthly reports to us describing the hours spent with our clients. We try to make the reporting process as stress-free as possible, but please consider whether this is something you will be able to do because it is a requirement of our program. Since we are dealing with financial matters the reports are a way to protect both the volunteer and the client. Additionally, we have volunteer check in meetings where the volunteers can either conference in via telephone or computer, or come in person. We ask that our volunteers attend 4 of these meetings per year.

Money Management provides training and ongoing support for all volunteers. Those volunteers who work with a client's funds are insured and bonded for the protection of the client and the volunteer. Background check is required. This service provides peace of mind and security to vulnerable seniors.
