Our volunteers are cancer survivors who provide one-on-one emotional support to people who are currently being treated for cancer. We also have former caregivers who support the cancer patients' caregivers.
Volunteers are matched with patients who've been given the same cancer diagnosis that the volunteers overcame. As survivors themselves, CanCare volunteers have the unique ability to relate to and empathize with clients currently undergoing their treatment. Training is provided.
At the present time, because of the coronavirus pandemic, all contact with patients and caregivers is over the phone or by text. Please, share some hope with someone who needs it!
