Our volunteers are cancer survivors who provide one-on-one emotional support to people who are currently being treated for cancer. At the present time, because of the coronavirus pandemic, all contact with patients and caregivers is virtual (over the phone, text, email, video chat, etc.). Extensive training is provided via Zoom as we are unable to meet in person at this time. We also have former caregivers who volunteer to support current cancer patients' caregivers. Volunteers are matched with patients who've been given the same cancer diagnosis that the volunteers overcame. As survivors themselves, CanCare volunteers have the unique ability to relate to and empathize with clients currently undergoing their treatment. Please, share some hope with someone who needs it!
