Job Title: Volunteer

Division: Youth Development

Reports to: Program Coordinator, Assistant Director, and Site Director.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Summary:

Volunteers assist the site staff to organize, coordinate and lead enrichment activities for program participants. Volunteers maintain a safe and learning environment for program participants at all times.

Essential Functions:

  • Providing homework help and can facilitate activities, while supervising children in programs outside of school day hours.
  • Supervise and monitor children. Report and document any misconduct, accidents, incidents and/ or facility issues to program administrators.
  • Assist Group Leaders and Activity Specialists to manage and document behavior.
  • Suggest necessary materials and Maintains supplies.
  • Assists in data collection and upkeep of participant’s documents as directed.
  • Attend all necessary program meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Actively engage ALL participants in activities.
  • Provide support through the learning process, by encouraging and providing resources and support.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Looking to learn about Child Development.
  • Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
  • Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Background Check
  • Schedule is flexible, but most be consistent. Program Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 3pm-5:30pm. Wednesday from 12:20pm-3:20pm
  • You do not have to have all of the skills mentioned, but at least one of them is helpful. Background checks usually take between 2-4 weeks, but it is worth it if you are passionate about helping our youth
